Description:

Polyamides are plastic polymers of chain structure with amide bonds -C(O)-NH-. Polyamides are raw materials for nylons, from which their alternative name origins – nylons. Polyamide 66 is commonly known as nylon.

General properties of polyamides:

high flexibility – impact strength
low thermal expansion,
high rigidity and mechanical strength,
high impact strength even at low temperatures,
good sliding properties (self-lubricating types)
abrasion resistance
UV resistance
low friction coefficient
vibration and noise absorption
good chemical resistance to greases, fats and gasoline
well machineable
may be glued or welded
good electric insulation (for non-modified polyamides).
